We are committed to provide everyone of all ages and walks of life who are free from infirmities. an opportunity to learn and experience the benefits of Soo Bahk Do, the Korean arts of self-defence.
We strive to promote the traditional values of respect, discipline, self-control and ultimately a healthy and cultured life of strong physical and mental orientation.
We share the art with all others who have the desire to learn the art in a safe environment where we can enjoy to practise together in the spirit of goodwill, harmony and comradeship.

Formation: 1998 through humble beginning as a Martial Arts Club
Objectives: To provide better technical management and teaching
standard of the art.
To promote safe practice and above all, to foster
goodwill and friendship among all Malaysians.
Founding
Members: Master George Sim Eng Hin and Master John Nabau
Milestones: Significant progress is our Dan's record which has shown not
less than two hundred and fifty (250) awardees ranging
from 1st Dan to 5th Dan Black Belts.
The Academy had groomed several instructors who are actively
promoting the art in most of the towns and districts in Sarawak.
The number of instructors continued to grow.
Numerous members have displayed their technical skills and
excellence of the art with great success. Many have developed
self-confidence and be able to face and overcome difficulties in
their everyday life. A great many more have also enjoyed and
benefited from their practice, assisted in promoting greater
unity and understanding among all members and built long
lasting friendships.

* Qualified, experienced and motivated masters and instructors each
having over 20 years hands-on experience in martial arts and
self-defence with the rank of 4th dan and above.
* Their early years of training came under the watchful eyes of many
Korean Soo Bahk Do masters and due to their responsibility and
caring attitude, they too have established the same values.

Instructors
Master George Sim
Has mastered the art for almost 5 decades.
Initially trained under several Korean
instructors who are renowned grandmasters
of international recognition.
Was officially appointed as an instructor by
Grandmaster Hwang Kee of Soo Bahk Do Moo
Duk in Korea in 1985.
First assignment as an instructor in 1980
for several government secondary
schools, clubs and police institutions in
Kuching, Serian, Bau and Sri Aman, apart
from assisting in the central gym.
A very highly skilled instructor-trainer in the
art of Soo Bahk (Tang Soo) Do with expertise
in the free hand combat and self-defence.
A co-founder member of Soo Bak Do
(Martial Arts) Academy. Currently the
Chief Instructor of the Academy and
holder of 7th Dan Black Belt.
Master John Nabau
Has been actively involved in the art for the
past three decades. Had been trained under
Korean instructors who are now renowned
grandmasters of international recognition

Had vast experience from the early days of
his teaching of the art in secondary schools

(Martial Arts) Academy and was appointed as
its Assistant Chief Instructor. Holder of
7th dan black belt.
Master Michael Linau
He has been actively involved in the art for
the past three decades.Trained under several
good local instructors. He has strong
dedication and love for the art which has
motivated him to progress well and yield great
achievement in the excellence of the art.

Has been conducting classes in the central
gym Serian since he was holder of 1st Dan
Black belt in 1986.Presently he was the
resident instructor of SMK Balai Ringin Soo
Bahk Do Club.
He has organized and conducted several
seminars since 1995. Appointed as a senior
instructor of the Academy and currently
hold the 5th dan Black belt.
Presently he holds the post of Presidency
of the Serian/Samarahan Soo Bahk Do Club.
Master Lichu Loat
He has been actively involved in the art some
3 decades ago in Serian.
By the time he was 1st dan, he had already
starting his teaching career as an assistant
instructor at the various schools and
kampungs in the Serian district.His many
years of teaching experience has added to
his unique methods of teaching the art.
At the time when he was appointed as a
senior instructor by the Academy, holding a
4th dan black belt he involved in a motor
cycle accident. Unfortunately he became
paralysed and thereafter on wheelchair.
Notwithstanding the above, he never
gave up instead he continued to attend
any seminar, clinic, social gathering
organised by the Academy...giving talks
& illustrations whenever called upon to.l
Master M.Meran Poes
Was actively involved in the art for the past
two decades in Kuching. Like all the other
masters he was trained under several
local instructors.
Was very much involved in the teaching of
the art in the Kuching District. Previously,
he was the resident instructor of several
clubs in Kuching.
A reliable and committed instructor with vast
experience and knowledge of the art.
Achieved his 4th dan black belt some 10
years ago.
Master Gabriel Chai
Was actively involved in the art for the past
two decades. Similarly, like other masters he
was trained under several local instructors.
He took part in several Soo Bahk Do seminars
worldwide.He was currently the assistant
instructor for the Serian central gym.He was
a 4th dan black belt holder and a senior
instructor of the Academy. He has strong
devotion to the learning and promotion of
the art in Serian district.
He was also the current Assistant Treasurer
of Serian Soo Bahk Do Club
Master Kenadi Aki
He has been involved in the art for the
past two decades.Has been trained by
some local instructors. Very committed and
has strong dedication to the learning and
promotion of the art.
A 4th dan black belt holder and currently the
resident instructor of the Serian DBNA central
gym. A reliable and committed instructor with
vast experience and knowledge of the art.
Treasurer for the Serian Soo Bahk Do Club.
Master Janie Limin
Has been actively involved in the art for the
past two decades.Like other masters he was
also trained by local instructors.
Has been actively involved in conducting
seminars and organizing the 4th Serian Soo
Bahk Do closed championship in year 2007 in
Serian.fthe artthe art in Siburan/Tapah
sub-district.Currently, he is the resident
instructor of Kpg.Kerumboi Soo Bahk Do
club.
Appointed as a senior instructor of the
Academy and holder of 4th dan black belt
Master Soliment Nyian
Has been actively involved in the art for
for the past two decades. He was also
trained by local instructors.
Has taken part in local and international
Tang Soo Do championship. Has involved
himself very actively in organizing
seminars for the members.
In view of his interests and knowledge
of the art he was appointed to assist
the resident instructor to conduct training
in the central gym Serian.
Holder of a 4th dan black belt and a senior
instructor of the Academy. Holding the
post of Asst. Secretary of Serian Soo Bahk
Do Club.
Master Nelson Nojek
Currently deputy president of Serian Soo
Bahk Do club. Like other masters he has also
actively involved in the art for the past two
decades.He also received training from local
instructors.
A very committed and reliable instructor with
vast experience in the art. He has helped in
promoting the art in Siburan/Tapah sub-
district.He is the resident instructor of Kpg.
Keramboi Soo Bahk Do club.
Appointed as a senior instructor of the
Academy and a 4th dan black belt.
Master Salhi Ayan
Has been practising the art for the past
two decades. He also received training and
guidance from local instructors.
A very reliable and committed instructor.
His vast experience and strong devotion of
the art has helped a lot in promoting the art
in the Samarahan district. Currently, he is the
resident instructor of SMK Kota Samarahan.
Holder of a 4th dan black belt and a senior
instructor of the Academy.
